Young Carers

Norfolk County Council defines a Young Carer as:  ‘Children and young people aged under 18 who look after or support a family member or a friend who is disabled, ill or misuses drugs or alcohol. The child or young person may help with practical tasks or emotional support for their disabled or ill person or others in the family household.’

We are proud to be a Young Carer friendly school and hold the Carer Friendly Tick Award.  This award recognises the support we have in place for Young Carers at Sprowston Community Academy and the work we do to raise awareness of their role with both staff and students
