At Stalham Academy, working alongside the School Council, we have a group of 8 Eco Warriors. These children work with Miss Burton on improving the school environment in many different ways; making Stalham Academy a greener place to be!
At the start of each school year, every class elects their own Eco Warrior to join the group. Fortnightly, the 8 Eco Warriors meet together to discuss new ideas and monitor the progress of ideas that have been previously introduced. The group work on the Eco suggestions of others, awards that can be achieved as well as organising events or theme days for the rest of the school community to get involved with.
Last Academic Year, the Eco Warriors were involved in...
-Gaining our Green Trees Platinum Award
-Organising the Duracell Big Battery Hunt
-Organising the RSPB Big Schools Birdwatch
-Coordinating the Year group litter picking rota
-Applying for the Local Schools Nature grant (which we were successful in achieving!!)
-Creating the Eco Award incentive scheme for other members of the school
-Creating the Eco suggestions box
and lots, lots more!
