School Meals

Our School meals are available on site and provided by Vertas. The food provided follows the remit for healthy eating. At time of writing, a hot school meal is £2.30. Whenever possible the kitchen will hold special days, themed multicultural days.

Additionally, if your child has a birthday coming up, the kitchen can provide a birthday lunch for your child and their friends in the conservatory. Please contact the school office for a booking form. Each term we try to invite parent(s)/carer(s) to come and have lunch with their children. Look out for the dates in our newsletters.

All parent(s)/carer(s) will be given a month’s supply of order forms to complete on a weekly basis. Lunches are ordered each Friday for the following week. (Please note that lunches are also ordered on the day the children break up for a school holiday, ready for the week they return to school). Please enclose the order form and correct money in an envelope with your child’s name and class clearly marked. The envelope is to be posted in the letter box, which is located in reception.

Vertas has a Special Diet Procedure. As you are aware their menus adhere to the School Food Standards and they endeavour to cater for the majority of children at Stalham Infant & Junior Schools  which can include children with special diets. To ensure Vertas capture all relevant details of a child with a medically diagnosed allergy, intolerance, or health condition, with the help of a nutritionist they would you prefer you meet with the Head of Kitchen Claire or the Area Manager Kim Murray to discuss this further Special. By meeting with the parent(s)/carer(s) this will help speed up menu requests and will enable Vertas Catering to liaise directly with a parent/carer via email or telephone whilst keep both school staff and kitchen staff in the loop.
